Koala
Description :
A bear-like arboreal mammal to 800 mm. Mainly active at night, but roosts in the open in the day, usually in a eucalypt tree. Fur is grey, with whitish underparts. It has a flattened face, with a large blackish nose and large hairy ears.
Habitat :
Eucalyptus forest. In the Park, mainly in
Eucalyptus viminalis
and
Eucalyptus cypellocarpa
.
Distribution
:
SE Quensland, New South Australia and Victoria. Widespread in southern Victoria, Found throughout the Park, but commonest in stands of
Eucalyptus viminalis
and
Eucalyptus cypellocarpa
.
