Scientific Name : Panesthia australis
Common Name : Australian wood cockroach
Description : This is a mostly black oval-shaped cockroach that feeds mainly on dead wood and can be found in the remains of fallen logs and branches. The adults are fully-winged, but apparently these animals are colonial and as they develop their wings, their fellow cockroaches, combine to chew them off, just leaving the stumps, which can be seen in the photographs. These animals are therefore effectively flightless.
Habitat : Unknown
Distribution : Unknown
Family : Blaberidae
