Scientific Name : Nannoscincus maccoyi Common Name : Maccoy's skink Description : A small slender skink with very short legs, up to 110mm. Colour is uniform, varying from rich brown to dark grey. The under parts are bright yellow. The tail is distinctive as being thick and only tapers very gradually so that it appears almost uniform in thickness. This is a burrowing skink that is rarely seen. Habitat : Wet schlerophyll forest, where it spends most of its time under rocks, logs and leaf litter. Distribution : Southern and Eastern Victoria, just reaching into New South Wales. In the park, occasionally found in the forested areas. Family : Scincidae
