Large shrub to small tree, which, when young, is a root Parasite on various species of eucalyptus. Branches very numerous, slender, green, Furrowed. Leaves reduced to tiny persistent scales at the base of each branchlet. Flowers minute, green in short dense Axillary Spikes to 6mm long. Fruit a nut 4 to 6 mm long, with its stalk swollen and fleshy, usually broader and longer than the nut, brightly coloured, red when ripe, when it is edible. |
