Large tree with smooth white to grey bark, the surface layer of which is shed each year. Juveniles leaves are stalkless, in Opposite pairs, green and occasionally a little Glaucous. Adult leaves are stalked and Alternate. They are among the longest eucalypt leaves being up to 30 cm long. Broadest near the base, thentapering uniformly to the tip, usually slightly sickle-shaped. Buds are cylindrical, with a cone-shaped tip, in clusters of seven on a flattened stalk in the Axils of the leaves Flowers are a ring of white Stamens about 1.2 cm diameter. Fruit are a cylindrical woody capsule 1cm long by 0.9 cm diameter, with a sunken disk. |

Wet Schlerophyll forest , especially in gullies and on mid-altitude hillsides. |

|
Dominant trees along Fosters Gully. Also common on hillsides bothe sides of Billy Creek. Throughout South-Eastern Victoria, extending into Southern New South Wales. |
