Description :
A small bird, to 130mm, mostly seen on the wing. Upper-parts are blue-black, with a white breast and a conspicuous off-white rump. There is a reddish spot on the forehead, above the very short beak and the throat is streaked with black. The tail is shallowly forked. It feeds on flying insects which are caught on the wing.
Habitat :
Open woodland.
Distribution
:
Throughout Australia. Very uncommon in the Park, but a large flock has been seen near Billys Creek in the autumn.
