Description : |

A small bird, to 125mm, with a short deep bill. The front of the face is red, with white behind it. The crown of the head is black, extending as a border at the back of the face. The back is golden-brown, with a white rump. The underparts are pale, with a wash of golden-brown. The wings are black, with white tips to the feathers and a broad band of yellow. The tail is black, with a little white near the tip. |

Introduced to the south east of Australia, from coastal New South Wales to Adelaide, and Tasmania. Found in all parts of Victoria. In the Park mainly in the Billys Creek section, usually adjacent to farmland, but occasionally in native forest. |
