Description : |
|
An attractive lily, with a scent of chocolate. It has a tuft of linear leaves, up to 500mm long at the base. There is a single flowering stem, bearing a Raceme of 5 to 20 flowers, often with a few branches as well. The Tepals are 10mm long, deep pink, with the Petals wider than the Sepals, and with wavy edges. All Tepals, have about four narrow ridges along their centres. There are 6 Stamens on short Filaments, with purple Anthers, each with a bright yellow appendage. The solitary Style is much shorter than the Stamens, arising from a bulbous Superior Ovary. The Ovary develops into a dry seed capsule 6mm long. |

New South Wales to South Australia and Tasmania. In Victoria widespread and common, except in the North-West and extreme East of the state. Uncommon in the Park, mainly found along the Western boundary. |
