White-faced heron
Description :
A tall slender, long-legged wading bird, to 700mm. The bill is long and dark, though lighter at its base. The entire body is grey, extending up the neck to the top of the head. The face and throat are white. The legs are yellow.
Habitat :
Swamps and waterways, but also often seen in farm dams and damp fields.
Distribution
:
Throughout Australia. In the park, occasionally seen along Billys Creek and in paddocks and farm dams, visible from the Western Boundary.
