Scientific Name : Paralucia aurifer
Common Name : Bright copper
Description : A small butterfly, with a wingspan of 25mm.The upper surface of the wings is dull brown, but there is a large, bright gold-orang triangle in the middle of each wing. The undesurgace is pale brown, with inconspicous markings of a slightly darker colour. The caterpillars feed only on Sweet Bursaria Bursaria spinosa.
Habitat : May be found wherever the food plant Bursaria spinosa is found.
Distribution : South Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. In the Park, it may be found wherever Bursaria spinosa is found, but has so far only been recorded from the Lodge track, between the old Lodge site and the Moran's Road entrance.
