Scientific Name : Geitoneura klugii
Common Name : Klug's xenica
Description : A medium sized butterfly, wing-span 50mm. Upper wings are pale orange and dark brown, with a small eye-spot on each wing. The hindwing has a brown bandpartly crossing the wing from thhe inner edge. The underwing is mottled grey and brown, with no visible eye-spot on the hind wing. Caterpillars feed on grasses.
Habitat : Open forest with dry leaf-litter
Distribution : Southern Queensland to Tasmania and South and West Australia. Commonly seen in the park in open forest.
Flying Season : November December January February
Family : Nymphalidae
