Scientific Name : Cystopelta purpurea
Common Name : N/A
Description : This is a native species of slug that appears to be somewhere between a normal slug and a snail. The visceral mass, appears to be separated from the foot at the rear (this is the part permanently enclosed in the shell of a snail). The body colour is grey-brown to dark brown, sometimes with black, white and brown flecks and blotches. The tail is flat and has distinct veins on its upper surface.
Habitat : Forests, in litter under logs and bark.
Distribution : The genus is found in Tasmania, and the South and East of Victoria and New South Wales. Distribution for this species is not available. One record from the park, but possible in all forested areas.
