Scientific Name : Austrodanthonia penicillata
Common Name : Slender wallaby-grass
Height : 700 mm
Description : A slender grass growing in loose tufts. Leaves are Glabrous or slightly hairy, flat or inrolled. Flower heads form a loose panicle. The Spikelets contain up to 7 Florets. The Lemma is slender, with three Awns, the central Awn 4 mm longer than the outer Awns. The base of the central Awn is very narrow, less than 0.3 mm wide. Hairs on the back of the Lemma are in three rows, the upper row being separated into four sparse tufts. The Palea is Lanceolate reaching to 1 mm above the Sinus.
Habitat : Mainly found in the cooler forests
Distribution : New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. In Victoria found mainly in and South of the Great Dividing Range. In the Park, mainly recorded along the Western Boundary track.
