Scientific Name : Acrobates pygmaeus
Common Name : Feathertail glider
Description : Only recently confirmed in the park when a dead one was found near Billys Creek in Apr 2022. Wayne Pengelley found one 100 metres from the park in 2013, he says: I needed to clear a fallen branch and as I cut it I noticed something drop to the ground. At first I thought it was a mouse but on closer inspection realised it was the first and still the only Feather tail glider I have ever seen. I picked it up as I was concerned it may have been injured. I put it in the plastic box to observe it for a few minutes and took the terrible picture of it. I put it on the trunk of a large tree at the same location and it ran straight up about 5 meters and crawed under some bark so was I was happy that it was ok and hopefully not too stressed.
Habitat : Unknown
Distribution : Unknown
Family : Acrobatidae
